Assistant Dean of Academics College of Technology and Aviation **********KSU Internal Search********** K-State at Salina invites applications and nominations for a 75% appointment to the position of Assistant Dean of Academics. The College is composed of the Departments of Engineering Technology; Aviation; and Arts, Sciences, and Business and offers associate and baccalaureate degrees. The Assistant Dean will have specific responsibility for identified components of the College academic programs and will serve on the administrative leadership team. The Assistant Dean of Academics must provide positive academic leadership and build upon the educational activities in place within the College. Specific responsibilities of the position include: 1) community and technical college planning guides and articulation agreements, 2) advisor training, 3) content maintenance of academic website pages, 4) assessment, program review, and accreditation actions, and 5) professional development for faculty and staff, and 6) Continuing Education course supervision. In addition, the Assistant Dean will be the K-State at Salina Diversity Point Person and will assist with additional activities as needed. This 12-month appointment will be a split position with 75% time dedicated to administrative duties and 25% appointment in the candidate’s academic department. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean of Academics, who has responsibility for all academic issues. Candidates must possess an earned master’s in Arts Science and Business, Engineering Technology, Aviation, Education, or a closely related field; a strong record of excellence in teaching and service, demonstrated academic leadership, and effective interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate, teaching experience at the collegiate level, a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, a strong record of excellence in teaching and service, demonstrated academic leadership, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
