This position provides security coverage for the Salina Campus. Work hours are varied.

Qualifications

Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Necessary special requirements once employed: successful completion of CPR & First Aid training. Must undergo background investigation including fingerprint search of local, state & federal files & must not have been convicted of any state or federal crime or its equivalent & be of good moral character. Valid driver's license needed upon employment.

Physical requirements: Requires physical exertion in transporting items (fire extinguisher, ice melt or other items) up to 50 pounds on occasion. Able to work varied hours, walk long distances & remain on feet for extended periods of time.

Preferred: Experience in security or related fields; knowledge of rules & regulations pertaining to use of K-State at Salina buildings; thorough knowledge of standard methods & practices used in safeguarding buildings & premises including fire prevention, health & safety practices & ability to detect suspicious conditions. Prefer computer skills, good verbal communication skills, & ability to compile comprehensive reports of safety & security activities, and able to write reports in a clear & concise manner.

Salary: $10.94/hour
This position is eligible for an additional 30 cents per hour shift differential in pay.
