Civil
Engineering Firm Establishes Scholarships at KSU
MANHATTAN, KAN Ñ The civil engineering firm of Brungardt Honomichl & Company, P.A., Overland Park, Kan., has made a gift of $50,000 to the Kansas State University Foundation to establish the Brungardt Honomichl & Company, P.A. Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship, the Brungardt Honomichl & Company, P.A. Civil Engineering Scholarship, and has also contributed to the Engineering College Enhancement Fund and the Civil Engineering Enhancement Fund.
The scholarships provide financial
assistance to students who are majoring in civil engineering technology in the
College of Technology and Aviation and students who are majoring in civil
engineering in the College of Engineering.
Bill Brungardt, president and director of
Brungardt Honomichl & Company, graduated from Kansas State University in
1983 with a bachelorÕs degree in civil engineering.
Kevin Honomichl, vice president and director of Brungardt Honomichl & Company, is a 1986 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelorÕs degree in civil engineering. Brungardt and Honomichl are both members of Presidents Club, a leadership organization for friends and alumni of K-State.
"The
Civil Engineering Enhancement Fund created by Brungardt Honomichl & Company
supports student leadership activities, and concrete canoe and steel bridge
competitions,Ó said Lakshmi Reddi, head of the Department of Civil Engineering.
ÒThe fund was also used last year to organize an annual awards banquet.
Brungardt and Honomichl have enhanced our student leadership activities to a
significant level this year. Their support is greatly appreciated by our
faculty and students alike."
ÒThe
demand for Civil Engineering Technology majors continues to increase,Ó said
Dennis Kuhlman, dean of the College of Technology and Aviation. ÒAs education
costs continue to rise, however, many capable students simply can not achieve
their goals without scholarship support.
This scholarship certainly emphasizes the commitment of Brungardt Honimichl
and Company's partnership with Kansas State University to provide assistance
and support for student achievement."
