SchwanÕs creates excellence fund and scholarship at Kansas State University-Salina

 

 

MANHATTAN, KAN. Ñ SchwanÕs Sales Enterprises, Marshall, Minn., has made a commitment of $50,000 to the Kansas State University Foundation to establish the Al Schwan Fund for Excellence in the College of Technology and Aviation at Kansas State University in Salina.

The purpose of this fund is to recognize TonyÕs Pizza Service, Salina, a subsidiary of SchwanÕs and to support student projects and scholarships for outstanding students enrolled in mechanical engineering technology, electronic engineering technology or technology management. Students must demonstrate outstanding ability and plan to pursue a bachelorÕs degree.

SchwanÕs was founded in 1952. It specializes in manufacturing, distribution and delivery of frozen food items including pizza, snacks, ice cream and desserts. Its home service division operates in the 48 contiguous states. Through SchwanÕs global consumer brands, products are manufactured and distributed in a number of countries.
