Open House attracts hundreds of visitors as K-State at Salina comes alive for the general public each year. The event takes place each spring on both the Salina and Manhattan campuses, highlighting the variety of academic, social and leadership opportunities that K-State offers.

Events and activities at K-State at Salina include things for families and guests of all ages. From water balloon cannons designed and built by students in mechanical engineering technology, to flight simulators in the Aviation Center, it’s a hands-on event that anyone can enjoy!

For high school students thinking about college, Open House is a perfect time to see student projects, classrooms and labs and to meet current students and faculty. Admissions representatives also are on hand to answer questions about applying for admission, financial aid, enrollment and much more.

Here’s just a sample of the activities and programs offered each year at K-State at Salina’s Open House:

  • Watch the annual weld-a-thon for charity
  • Fly in the simulators
  • Enjoy a free K-State ice cream cone
  • Shoot student-designed water balloon cannons
  • Tour the labs in the Technology Center and Aviation Center
  • Take a Web design or computer programming class
  • See planes from K-State’s official fleet
  • See cool chemistry reactions
