K-STATE AT SALINA TO SIGN 2+2 AGREEMENTS WITH INDEPENDENCE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

SALINA – Four 2+2 transfer agreements have been developed between Independence Community College and Kansas State University at Salina for engineering technology bachelor’s degrees. The agreement will be signed during the Independence Community College board meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the Administration Building.

“We are very excited to have this agreement become a reality,” said Dennis Kuhlman, K-State at Salina dean. “These new program advising guides will enable students at ICC to see exactly how they can be successful in completing their bachelor’s degree at K-State at Salina. It is a tribute to the strength of the engineering technology programs at both ICC and K-State at Salina, and we hope it helps students enrich their educational experience even further.”

The agreements will allow Independence Community College students to earn an associate of science degree and then transfer many of those credits to K-State at Salina toward the completion of a bachelor of science degree in engineering technology. The programs currently involved are computer systems technology, construction engineering technology, electronic and computer engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology.

K-State at Salina representatives scheduled to be on hand for the signing include Kuhlman, engineering technology department head John DeLeon, and associate dean of student life Dixie Schierlman. Representing Independence Community College will be president Terry Hetrick, dean of instruction Paula Davis, and the six board of trustees members.
