A parking permit must be displayed to park during weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in all lots, except for residence hall lots which require a permit to be displayed every day at all times.
Students, faculty and staff, and visitors are offered on-campus parking by K-State Parking Services. The parking system is self-supporting in that it receives no funding from the State of Kansas. Parking permit sales and misuse fees support the maintenance of the facilities.
Purchasing a Permit
Students must purchase permits through KSIS using the Self Service Market Place. Once submitted, the permit will be available for pickup in the Parking Services office the following business day after 11 a.m.
For Faculty & Staff
Employees must purchase permits through HRIS Self Service. Step-by-step instructions are available here.
Visitors may purchase a temporary permit by visiting the Parking Services office in person.
Receiving a Citation
Citations are issued by Campus Safety & Security.
Citations must be paid within 14 days of being issued. A $5 late fee will be added if not paid within this time. Payments may be made in person at the Parking Services office or online using K-State Online Parking.
Citations may be appealed by filling out a form in person at the Parking Services office or by using K-State Online Parking. The appeal must be submitted within 14 days of the citation being issued. Expired parking meter violations may not be appealed.
The K-State Salina Parking Citations Appeals Board will decide whether to uphold the citation or dismiss it based on two questions: Was a parking rule or regulation violated? Were there extenuating circumstances causing the violation? The board's decisions are final and may not be further appealed.
