eligibility for intramural sports

Students
Any currently enrolled student (part-time or full-time) at K-State is eligible for intramural competition. Recreational Services defines student enrollment status by payment of campus privilege fees and recreation building and operation fees. This information is accessed through the K-State at Salina Registrar's Office. K-State student ID must be presented prior to participation in team sports.

Faculty/staff
Current K-State faculty and staff and visiting professors may participate in a student division of any intramural activity or in the faculty/staff division in specific activities. K-State faculty and staff are defined as persons appointed by a K-State department and paid through the payroll department at K-State.

The faculty/staff division of an activity is open to all current and retired K-State faculty and staff, graduate assistants of K-State departments, and full-time employees of K-State departments and their affiliates.

Faculty, staff, and graduate assistants may participate in only one division when both student and faculty/staff divisions are offered in the same sport during the same sports season.

A faculty or staff member of K-State, who is an advisor or director of a registered K-State club or living organization, will be allowed to compete for that respective group.

Faculty and staff may purchase a membership to the Gymnasium or pay the daily guest fee for each game or activity at the Gymnasium or Thaemert Field. Membership cards or guest passes must be shown for admittance to the activity area.

Affiliates
Affiliates of the Gymnasium, through contract for membership or General Fitness Course membership may participate in Intramurals offered in the Gymnasium, volleyball, basketball, 3 on 3 basketball, wallyball and the racquetball tournament.  Affiliates cannot play on K-State of Salina or Kansas Wesleyan student teams.

Co-rec division:
Male and female students, faculty, and staff may play on a co-rec team even though they are on a team in a men's or women's division.

Non-student or faculty staff spouses may compete on co-rec major team sports only. These are flag football, volleyball, softball, and basketball). Both spouses must be participating members of the same team.  Non-student spouses or faculty staff spouses must purchase a facility use membership or daily use guest passes for each game or activity to the Gymnasium for intramurals held at the Gymnasium or Thaemert Field.
