Kansas State University Salina has been opening its campus to junior high and high school students for close to 20 years as the Salina regional host of Kansas Science Olympiad. This year's competition is Wednesday, Jan. 15 and play will begin at 8 a.m. for the high school level and 9 a.m. for junior high participants.
The nationally recognized competition consists of 23 events focusing on biology, physics, chemistry, earth science, technology and inquiry, challenging the students' knowledge and skill level.
There will be an awards presentation immediately following the completion of the competition. Those wanting to watch should take a look at the 'Schedule of Events' for the time and location of each activity.
