STUDENT CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

ATHLETIC:

Intramural Sports
Flag football, softball, basketball, volleyball, racquetball, and more.

Ultimate Frisbee Club (UFC)
An athletic club that practices and participates in Ultimate Frisbee tournaments around the state and in the region.

Club Events: State and Regional Tournaments and practices every week.

Dodge Ball Club
A new athletic club that promotes team orientation, social skills, and physical activity. This club is open to have K-State at Salina students and is a great way to play and meet new people.


DEPARTMENTAL:

Aviation

Alpha Eta Rho
A collegiate international fraternity founded to bring together students with an interest in the field of commercial aviation, with a professional approach and attitude toward aviation.

Club Events: Plane washes, fundraising, trips to aircraft manufacturers and aviation related facilities, and other aviation related events.

Flight Team
Student-run organization which completes on the regional and national level against other colleges and universities in various ground and fligt events and is committed to the furtherance of safety in flight.

Club Events: Regional/National Tournaments, fund-raisers, various community events, competition practice.

High Powered Rocketry Club
To promote aerospace studies through the designing, building, and launching of medium to high powered rockets and aerospace vehicles.

Club Events: Local, State, and National rocketry launching events.

Wildcat Warriors (ROTC)
Reserve Officer Training Corps; organization geared toward the support of Air Force ROTC and the K-State at Salina campus.

Club Events: All activities that K-State at Manhattan AFROTC conducts; organized physical training

Women In Aviation International
To foster, promote, and engage in aviation education, particularly as it relates to women in aviation.

Club Events: Guest speakers, local fund-raisers, travel to other chapters, participation in annual national conference.

SkillsUSA
A nationally recognized organization, SkillsUSA has regional, state and national competitions for technical fields from cutting hair to web design. Aviation Maintenance is also one of the competitions. The competitors come from high school and college programs across the country. K-State at Salina has the only SkillsUSA group in the state of Kansas.

Club Events: Compete is state, regional, and national competitions. Also participate in fundraisers and other service projects.

Engineering Technology

Association of Computing Machinery Club (ACM)
A club for people who like computers. ACM is dedicated to advancing computing as a science and a profession and providing a place for those who share in interest in computers. Our ACM chapter belongs to the international ACM

Club Events: Local meetings, guest speakers, field trips, state and national competitions, and state and national conferences.

Baja Club
Engineering students design and build an off-road vehicle that wil survive the severe punishment of rough terrain during regional competition.

Club Events: Mini Baja West

Cat Cannon Club
Members cooperatively maintain and crate new t-shirt projectile cannon designs.

Club Events: K-State football games and other events

Concrete Canoe
Civil, surveying, and technology management students create projects like the Concrete Canoe, go on trips to benefit student education, and have seminars and speakers.

Club Events: Concrete Canoe Competition, St. Elizabeth’s Community Service, Open House, ACI Testing, Club of the Year, Bulletin Boards

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
The dissemination of knowledge of the theory and practice of all aspects of electrical engineering, electronics, radio, allied branches of engineering (or the related arts and sciences), as well as the furtherance of the professional development of students.

Club Events: Blood Drive, Tours of Industry, Open House

Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)
A student chapter of an international professional society dedicated to serving its members and the industrial community through the advancement of professionalism, knowledge, and learning.

Club Events: Industrial tours, technical program topics, regular meetings, cooperate with local senior chapter sponsors, Open House, t-shirt sales, pizza feed.

Solar Boat Club
For students who are interested in electronic engineering.

Club Events: Create and compete with solar-powered boat.

 

GOVERNMENTAL:

Judicial Board
Peer hearing board for code of conduct violations in the residence halls and on campus.

Student Governing Association (SGA)
Student body government, representing student needs and concerns

Programming Board
Student led board that plans events for the year such as bowling leagues, casino nights, dances, speakers, movies, etc.

Club Events: Wildcat Welcome Week, Hall-o-Hangar Dance, Casino Night, Movie Nights, Skating Nights, Bowling League, Tiki Bash Luau

Residence Hall Association (RHA)
Governing body for the residence halls that creates policies and plans events to supplement the needs of the residents.

Club Events: Sponsors delegates to the regional/national leadership conferences.

 

SOCIAL/OTHER:

K-State Gamers Board (KGB)
To bring together people form different majors and off campus to socialize and interact through computer gaming.

Club Events: Large monthly LAN parties

SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise)
To bring together students from different disciplines that share and interest in entrepreneurship.

Club Events: Regional SIFE competition, BBQ, Solomon University, business plan workshops, developing a new on-campus business, coffee shop, and much more.

On The Record
K-State at Salina’s own student publication. Bringing news and information to students through regular publication of a newspaper, and providing interested students a chance to develop skills in writing, interviewing, editing, web design, photography, and much more. Member of the Associated Collegiate Press.

Club Events: Publishes newspaper every three weeks, National ACP conventions, Open Forums, club social events, and more.

Phi Delta Theta
Social Fraternity for men.

Club Events: Box Village, Scholarship Banquet, Open House, annual ski trip, camping, Phi Day
