JESS


My name is Jess Simpson and I am so excited to be a part of Student Support Services. I am the proud father of three children (one of whom is going to college in a few of years) and have the world’s greatest wife. I wish early on in my college career I would have had the services that SSS offers students. I am a first generation college student and I know I would have benefited from the program. Now about our program… Our program goal is built into our name. We are here to support you, the student. I am a graduate of Kansas Wesleyan and Fort Hays State University. I spent two years at Cowley County Community College as I am also a proud Cowley Tiger. Our philosophy with students is a simple one: “We are here to help”. Our services include but are not limited to financial aid counseling, personal counseling and academic advising. We pride ourselves in helping students and have a great time doing it.

I am Dedra Francis, the Senior Administrative Assistant. All of my career I have worked in a support capacity position, thus this program being titled Student Support Services is a perfect fit for me. If your question is simple or complex, I will get you an answer. And with a smile, as it is my pleasure to help you succeed. My free time, it is gratefully consumed by my family; 3 young daughters and a great husband, which is the perfect life! I was born and raised in Salina, KS so hopefully I can help you acclimate to your college town. Stop in and introduce yourself. Hope to see you soon!

DANIELLE


I am Danielle Brown, the Academic Services Coordinator. I worked for a Non-Profit company before coming to K-State at Salina. I am excited to be a part of Student Support Services / TRiO. I am a graduate of Fort Hays State University and soon to be a graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University. My free time is consumed by taking care of my wonderful family. I was a first generation college student myself and know the struggles that college students face. My door is always open to any student for any reason. I look forwarding to meeting all of you.
