Dr. Balaji Balasubramaniam
Research Bio
Dr. Balaji Balasubramaniam is an Assistant Professor at Kansas State University Salina Aerospace and Technology Campus, where he also serves as the Graduate Program Coordinator for the Machine Learning and Autonomous Systems certificate. He led the effort to establish K-State University as an Unreal Authorized Training Academy. A designation that delivers significant advantages, including access to cutting-edge development tools, specialized learning resources, fostering industry partnerships, and enhanced career pathways for students in immersive technologies.
Balaji has made extensive contributions to research and education in emerging technologies, with publications in leading venues, including the ACM Transactions on Cyber-Physical Systems and IEEE conferences. He has also co-authored research that was featured in the best papers session at the International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems (ICCPS). He actively engages in professional service as a reviewer for top-tier journals and conferences and leads community outreach initiatives on AI and robotics education.
He actively mentors students, fosters industry collaborations, and contributes to initiatives that advance technological education. His teaching portfolio includes graduate courses in Cybernetic Modeling and Simulation, Autonomous Systems, and Artificial Intelligence, as well as undergraduate courses in programming, databases, and software engineering. With a strong academic background and a passion for innovation, Balaji focuses on integrating cutting-edge technology concepts into undergraduate and graduate education and research.
