Aerospace Education Hub
The Aerospace Education Hub is a state-of-the-art facility designed to advance aerospace education, support industry partnerships and applied research and expand workforce pipelines for high-demand careers, positioning Kansas as a national leader in advanced air mobility and emerging aviation technologies. At K-State Salina's Aerospace Education Hub, we are advancing the future of aviation, workforce and innovation.
The Aerospace Education Hub will co-locate the key academic and research programs of uncrewed aircraft systems, or UAS, the Aviation Maintenance Training Center and the Advanced Composites Laboratory. By co-locating education and research programs, K-State Salina will create flexible workforce training pathways that align academic credentials with industry-recognized certifications—supporting multiple entry points into aerospace careers and ensuring graduates are career-ready on day one.
Building pathways to the aerospace industry
The 74,500 square foot facility is expected to open in early 2027.
The new hub will include:
- State-of-the-art hangar, lab, simulation and classroom spaces
- Permanent and mobile ground control stations
- Dedicated space for autonomous battery storage
- Reconfigurable composites education and research laboratory to accommodate large scope projects
