K-AIRES Facility Capabilities

The Kansas Artificial Intelligence Research and Entertainment Studio, or K-AIRES, is located on the Kansas State University Salina Campus, and will be a one-of-a-kind, 47,500-square-foot facility housing world-class education, research and innovation in the evolving industry of AI and virtual technologies.

It will house the following components:

  • High-definition giant-format displays
  • Multi-purpose reconfigurable LED sets
  • Motion platforms test facility
  • AR/VR development laboratory
  • Haptics laboratory
  • Lightfield displays
  • 3D model and rendering stations
  • Motion capture capabilities
  • Laser projection cave
  • 7 Degrees of Freedom (7DOF) platform to build and/or supplement customized simulation programs
