Anxiety Disorders: Two-Part Series!

Anxiety disorders are a widespread concern for many individuals in treatment. Interested in learning more about how you can assist clients exhibiting signs of anxiety? In this two-part series, the first training will allow you to gain foundational knowledge on anxiety disorders and available diagnostic categories related to anxiety. After building a solid understanding of the basics of anxiety disorders, the second part of the series dives deeper into the treatment of complicated or more severe anxiety disorders. Lastly, the two-part series will discuss adjunct treatment methods when the presenting anxiety is resistant to standard treatment protocols.

Course Series Details

Dates: Part 1 - February 24, 2023 | Part 2 - March 24, 2023

Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. CT (one hour break for lunch)

Location: Online live stream through Zoom

Cost: These courses are designed to be taken sequentially and will be discounted when bundled. The breakdown of fees is as follows:

Payment is due at the time of registration. Registration fee includes course instruction and materials. Meals, travel, and lodging are not included in the registration fee and are the attendee's responsibility.

Continuing education credits: 6 diagnostic and treatment hours per course (12 hours total when bundled)

System Requirements

The online training software operates on any Mac or PC system. Your system must have speakers with sound enabled. You will need a microphone (webcam optional) to participate in the live activities.You will need an internet connection, broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE) is recommended.

You will need to download Zoom, a free video conferencing software to participate in the live activities. You can do this from the Zoom web site, or you will be prompted to download it prior to the program. Please review the Zoom system requirements.

About the instructor

Dr. Abby Callis
Family Service and Guidance Center

Dr. Callis is the Director of Quality and Outcomes at Family Service and Guidance Center in Topeka, Kansas. She received her Master's degree from Western Kentucky University in 2003 and her Doctorate of Psychology from the Florida School and Professional Psychology in 2009. Dr. Callis has many years of experience working with both children and adults in the mental health field and her experience has included the provision of a wide range of therapeutic services, supervision, numerous community presentations, psychological assessment and teaching. She has developed and run evidence-based anxiety treatment center within the Community Mental Health setting. Dr. Callis is also a member of the FSGC training program; supervising pre-doctoral interns who are part of an APA-accredited internship program, post-doctoral students, as well as master's students from several disciplines. In addition to clinical work, Dr. Callis is an adjunct professor at Washburn University, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, and is a Mental Health First Aid trainer in Kansas.
